Seasons greetings, fellow Jobcasers! As the new year approaches, there are tons of job fairs scheduled for early December. Following is a list of some prominent ones I've found online. They are sponsored by various employment development organizations including the Diversity Career Group and the Veteran Support Initiative.
For Jobcasers outside of Los Angeles, be sure to search for job fairs in your area. Job fairs are excellent ways to cut through the application waiting game and jump start your next career.
Making an impression in-person, and getting your resume in a hiring manager's hand is far more direct than shooting your resume into the void!
Best of luck, fellow Jobcasers!

Folks, if there are 10,000 jobs in sight, perhaps, there's 100,000+ jobs out of sight. Right? So, where are they at?
Listen carefully...
Before you find a job with insight or specific jobs out of sight, you should find your best self job within.
*Something that serves the values of those things which sits close to your heart. (See illustration below.)
That's where your jobsearch and journey seriously begins.
Let's get to work!

¡Read Without Failure!
I'm telling you the truth...
Most likely, you've heard this saying over 1,001 times again and again. Right? That is...
"What you say with your mouth, has a tremendous impact of what's recreated in return. As a result, this life you subsequently live."
Once you say..."I can't find a decent job to save my life." Friends, I hope you live a long time, because your spoken words produce that truth.
Your negative words will minimize your efforts which may appear a bent or damaged nails.(See illustration below.)
Watch what you say!

Here's how to capitalize on your military background:
Identify transferable skills: Analyze your military roles and responsibilities. Extract skills like leadership, teamwork, problem-solving, adaptability, discipline, and time management. These are highly sought after in the civilian workforce. Reframe your experience: Instead of listing military jargon and acronyms on your resume, translate your accomplishments into civilian-friendly language.
1 For example, instead of "Led a squad of 12 soldiers in combat operations," say "Managed a team of 12 personnel to achieve mission-critical objectives in high-pressure environments." Highlight your soft skills: Employers value strong communication, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in diverse teams. Your military experience likely provided ample opportunities to develop these skills, so be sure to emphasize them. Leverage veteran resources: Organizations like the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) and veteran-focused career services offer workshops, resume writing assistance, and networking opportunities to help veterans transition into civilian careers. By effectively translating your military skills and experience, you can showcase your value to potential employers and increase your chances of landing a fulfilling civilian job. #veterans #jobsearch #interview
I am 77 years old and looking for steady employment, which I have been unable to find since I was 75. I will be 78 in December. I have years as a security officer from way back. I recently finished a extension course, Security Level II with Texas A&M Engineering Extension. My license is long expired. Numerous companies in the area are seeking licensened guards, but do not want to license them. I am a former Army MP. #veterans
MUST READ:
Mount Everest's peak is the highest altitude above mean sea level at 29,029 feet [8,848 meters].
Edmund Hillary and Tenzing Norgay were noted as the first men to climb, reaching their goal, while others looked on.
LESSONS ABOVE LOSSES:
Don't be like others who are looking on in search of uncertainties in life.
Be specific and ask for the job you want, then, "you will lack nothing."

Sometimes, life can be like a roller coaster ride, situations going up, while other things may be going down the tubes of life.
However, when you envision yourself as being in-charge knowing your destination in life, you make necessary changes.

- DISCIPLINE: Latoya said...
"It was my children and character that got me out of bed, commitment that moved me into action, and strict discipline that enabled me to follow through on all actions."
I Believe You Can Too...!
Many people fail their job interviews before you can get a wrench from the toolbox.
They submit 20-30 resumes without creating significant changes.
If you want to create rotational success in the workforce, sometimes a "front-end realignment" on yourself is required.
Then, everything else will fall-in-place.
