Job search burnout can be tough. Here are a few ways to cope:
Take breaks: Step away from applications for a day or two to recharge. Set small, manageable goals: Apply to a set number of jobs each day or week rather than overwhelming yourself. Stay organized: Keep track of applications, deadlines, and follow-ups to avoid feeling scattered. Reach out for support: Talk to friends, family, or mentors for encouragement and advice. Engage in self-care: Prioritize activities that relax or energize you, like exercise, hobbies, or meditation.

If I want the job an they well hold it

I,m currently looking for a job. I have over 34 plus years experience in customer service. Property manager for 5 years. Remote sounds excellent.

Cleaning company turned out we were specifically contracted for "crime scene clean up" at 1st i was excited then one day I went to work and had to pull blood stained hot wheel road map carpet up along with disassembling bunk beds that were completely destroyed from the shotgun blasts from the sick f#$@ who murdered there step children

Skating rink, Roller Derby, Did apply for waitressing at a topless bar. Even Hooters nope flat chested

It's like what's the point of even going to the interview if your not going to work there. If people would stop doing that. I might have a job now.

During the interview I have learned it's helpful to ask how many candidates are left to interview and when the position will be filled...then contact them when the interviews have ended to inquire politely about the current status.

Change your resume style and simplify information for the novice reader. Besides give yourself a break and go out and exercise for fresh air. Then start again with a different mindset.

Thank you for your great help. I want to remind you that I am only looking for an IT technical support position, but it has to be Remote - Working from home, because for the last 12 years, I have had only Remote Position and I love it. With that in mind any great help from you, it is highly appreciated.

Full time with benefits

I was a school drop out who often got in trouble at school. I realized that the jobs I were working required more education, so I went back to Halifax Community College, where I obtained great help from Ms. Mary Bugwyn, and Mr. Thurmond Taylor, with accomplishing my GED.
Needless, to know that I did not obtain my GED the first time. I did not pass the English part. Moreover, those great teachers saw something in me that I didn't and Ms. Mary Bugwyn, saw something in my determination, and my defeat of not being able to pass the English part. The great leader and I set a short term goal for my academic success.
She indicated that if I needed to come back and study just the English section, and she would give me the G.E.D test at the end of the month. Notably, was 28 years old and a late baby boomer. I already had two children, and my income was very low, so I challenged the goal that we set. When the month ended, Ms. Mary Bugwyn, was a genuine person.
Ms Bugwyn gave me that test, and I passed it with flying colors. We all clapped and I cried within
myself because I turned negative behavior into positive behavior. I obtained two associate degrees. One was in Correctional Services and another one was in Social Services. With that being said, I enrolled in the Shaw University program, and later received a four years degree in Sociology.
I actually was able to utilize that degree in Greenville's' Department of Correctional Institute.
The job allowed me to work as a Correctional officer. In addition, it was utilized at Odom Correctional Institution, where I obtained a Social Worker 11 position, and I entered in a master program at California College and obtained a master degree in Community Health Administration. Additionally, I entered
in a great Comprehensive Counseling Program, at North Central University in Durham, N.C. I finished in 2001, and prior worked at Weldon Elementary School, and worked an overnight job with Lutheran Family Services. A challenging position of teaching and counseling adolence
Importantly, I realized that God's purpose for me was to return to the Halifax County Schools' system, where I often disruptive the classes and
help these same children that are targeted for. academic success.
The addiction for more knowledge did not stop here, I decided that I wanted to complete a degree in Administration Leadership, so I reentered school at Cambridge College, in one of their extended programs, and obtained my degree while still working. The advance Degree was completed in Chesapeake, Virginia.
Unfortunately, I was striving to complete their doctorial program, but due to the limited students. My long-term goal required that I reenter in another program. In addition, North Central school in Arizona would only take 12 credit hrs. from my transcripts. The Virtual program was so hard I had to retake classes over, but I did not give up, and I struggled to pay for those expensive classes with the help of God and by myself.
There were some professors that believed, I was worthy of my degree in Black History, or African American History, and Administration Leadership. Additionally, there were some who gave me hell and often felt I was not worthy of the degree. My advice to all individuals that are in educational classes, do not let any one tell you that you can't achieve your goal because I completed my doctorial degree in 2023, at the age of 66 years old (Savage et al. 2025).
Miriam, you should consider going to the pet store and ask the store manager, what are the qualifications for working at Pet Smart, and if a degree is not required.
You should complete your application and constantly check on it, or go in person to express your true interest of the position. However, if a degree is required, and you would like to work in this position, please go back to a qualified community college, or university and talk with an admission counselor and follow your career goals.
In addition, please make sure that this is really what you would like to do because if not you can lose credit hours and more like I did (smile).
