I love my job. I'm a manager at a small owned business, lately it seems like it's just getting worse, I've been at my job 2 years and only make $10 and someone who has been here 3 months makes a dollar less than me. I came into the job already with experience. We hire people who quit within a few days leaving us to work even harder. I just got done working 9 days straight cause we had 3 different people out of 6 on vacation, I have a three year old and feel like I barely get any time with her anymore, I go to work and she's asleep, I come home and she's asleep. My boss asked me to work the night shifts cause she feels bad leaving her kids....as if I don't miss mine. Honestly I'm pretty sure some of the work related stuff like hours and overtime she doesn't do any I'm pretty sure it's illegal in the state of GA. Thanks for listening to my rant #advice #workenvironment

So I work for a pretty large network, akin to a government facility so there are lots of people i have worked with and met over the 3 years working here part time: Im 23 and just graduated from college and am more looking for full time positions. My former head supervisor was an amazing women like a second mother, truly a nurture and she taught me so much in the 2 years we worked together, sadly she left in July. Her second in command is about 27/28 and can into the scene about same time and so we have all worked together for 2 years. With my supervisor leaving her next in command was into her position, leaving a full time opening. I applied for this. Prior to applying I have applying to several over job openings in the network and not heard much back. As the change of command has shifted so has the relationship with my boss. It is as if she has become on the lookout for my mistakes. At one I was discussing life and living and she makes a comment about how I am a “child” and how I “ can’t even get an apartment” mind you I work part time, and she said this with all seriousness. On another point she texted me saying she would be writing me up because I didn’t not clock in or out and it would result in a suspension, even though I was not working. Also she made a comment about how she had not seen anything impressive in the time she has worked with me, and how despite most it being covid and things being shut down for a lot of the time we worked together. It was as if the only thing she could see was my age and my mistakes when she looks at me. At one point she mentioned how, “whenever she sees me doing nothing she’s going to make note for my evaluation”. Of which thankfully a higher supervisor sat in with. I have started to send weekly email reports with all the things in the week I accomplished in order to show her my part in this job since she chooses to ignore it. I know bevahe of this attitude I would not have gotten the job. But I still believe I shouldn’t have to deal with this. I’ve been shorted my hours, scheduled the worst shifts, but I work for a GREAT purpose and I adored my job before she came into command. I frankly work my butt off for these people and give them alot of my holidays and TONS of my weekends and I would appreciate a little respect. Please tell me if I’m losing my cool over nothing. #management #advice #coworkers # #workenvironment #stressful #interview

I stayed at Arby’s cause they became my family and I loved every minute of it until this new company turbo got it and I tried to stay then but they don’t care about their employees all they want is to keep making money even when it is 105 degrees inside cause the air not working and employees are getting sick and it so hot the hoses on the coke machine busted that what they wanted me to fix and now my family is working up there and there is only 7 employees although and they are not paying them right so yes I love the old stores but not turbo #foodservices #workenvironment

I started working for Safeway July 30 I worked a total of one week and then had to change my shift because I was just diagnosed with cancer. My regional manager refuse to call me for a month after I went in three times politely asking for a shift and then called 12 times being hung up on five and then being told that the manager was unavailable the other half of the time . I eventually had to quit my job and start looking for another one. Mind you the only thing I told them is that I had severe health issues that required more time during the night for me to sleep because of the medication that I am going to be taking. When I had gone in to quit my job I had two checks waiting for me no one had I told me when I was going to be paid, no one had been concerned enough with being under staffed, and that when I actually quit he handed me my checks and literally walked away no thank you for working with us no I apologize for your problems that you had while you were working here and I worked Technically for this company for a total of 2 1/2 months. During that time the conditions of the store were horrible I worked making donuts and I could literally smell the mold from the kitchen & it was making me sick. employment safety was at an all time low, And the standards for the store excuse my language but complete utter bullshit. Other employees were constantly complaining about problems & the manager just didn’t give an absolute flying fuck.

I went to an interview not that long ago and when I walked into the office I was taken back by how shabby it was. Old carpet, paint, no window coverings. Gave me a very bad impression of the company itself. Has anyone else encountered this? Not the type of place I wanted to go to every day, too depressing.

Would love somreactions to this. In Healthcare Revenue Cycle for 30 yrs. Laid off 2/15 of 2019 out of work since then. When I left NY 5 yrs ago I was making $21.45 an hr. With that large health system over 10 yrs. Had a job w a health system here in NC for 2 and a half yrs. Was laid off took another job I utterly hated for $17.50 an hr stayed 14 months left that job for what I thought was a better oppotunity $18 an hr the staffing company lied the company I was contracted with lied saying no mass layoffs 8 months later we were laid off. Now I am working for a company that gives no benefits till 90 days no PTO till 180 days. If your caught w a cell phone immediate firing. Not allowed any pens and paper at your desk. No drawers at the desk and they provide no ammenities for thier employees not even a paper cup for water. Cant eat anything at your desk. You dont even get paid for federal holidays until 180 days in. A stinking half hr lunch. All these wonderful benefits for $11.00 an hour WTF.
