Ok, so this all started LAST Tues, early morning, on the night shift. Night supv & I had a conversation regarding other people he had hired & subsequently fired. He described guys having beer on the cart (on which we pick up trash, from admin buildings on a college campus). He also told me of "fraternization" between one of our guys (we're sub-contractors) & a married female employee of the college. Moving on, another guy was mad & decided to ram a cart into a barrier on purpose. Yet, another guy got his job done so quickly, he'd run off to the female dorm & hang out w his girl (fraternization). Now comes my info. I was doing the trash run last Tues. About 1/2 way thru, I went to the compactor & dumped off what I had piled up. Resuming the rest of my run, I got to the last stop, tossed the trash in the back. I decided to go into the building & use the bathroom. I spoke to the lady cleaning the building, about which restroom I could use (as she was cleaning at the time). As I came out, she mentioned that she remembered me as a clerk from my prior job. Naturally, we spoke for a couple of minutes, establishing that fact. Here we go...next thing I see is this company truck pull right up to the building. The "night boss" supv gets out, storming up to the door, starts raising his voice..."What are you doing in here ?, You aren't authorized in here, get in the truck NOW, we talked about this, it's fraternization". So, I proceeded to explain that I had to use the restroom. "I don't care". Anyway, we got back to the office..."get your things together & leave, get out of here". I asked, "Just what does that mean ?" He replied, "You're fired, just leave". Now, some fun w this. 1: This supv signed out "Supv" swipe card #1. I was assigned Supv swipe card #2. If these buildings were "off limits" to me, why was I assigned a "Supv" swipe that gets me into any building our company personnel clean overnight ? How can he claim "fraternization" when it comes to a short conversation, between a member of our own company & me ? NOW, THE BIG BANGER !!! This douche admitted to me, he met his current wife on the job ! He is the night Supv & she normally issues out the keys & swipe cards to the oncoming shift. Hmm...fraternization there folks ???

I applied a couple of weeks ago right at the store. Ask one of the check out workers where you can apply and talk to the manager while you are there

I felt proud to work for #Advent Health / Florida Hospital Orlando when...

I had close to 30 years as a hospital based Clinical Engineer in Connecticut. We were responsible for every area of the Hospital, But rotated through other areas, while we held on to or Primary areas. My main area for my entire career was Surgical Services. With the advent of Video systems, Lasers, and many new surgical modalities, I was allowed to grow up and develop, study work flows, and set up cart systems, and control booth areas. I "practiced perfection" my entire career. I moved south in 2014, and was hired by Florida Hospital / Advent Health. An absolutely wonderful place to work. I would mentor the new engineers, the same way I did in Connecticut, this was always a great experience. Unfortunately, Upper management in this Clinical Engineering Dept. felt I was spending too much time on tasks that they felt we, as a department, shouldn't be doing. I routinely pointed out that safety was always #1, but they never saw it that way. The departments I supported were thrilled with my customer service skills, the thoroughness of completing every task I was given. I was told by my management to forget perfection, it cost too much and took too long. After doing every job task 100%, for my entire career, I wasn't going to finish my career doing things any other way... The decision to walk from this career was torturing, but staying and doing it any other way would of been worse than staying. So I left.

What would you do if your Executive Director called your previous job administrator(they’re friends) to talk about you putting your two week notice in with your current employer? Shouldn’t all job references and questions should have been done 8 months ago when I was hired. At this point I feel harassed. #advice #1 #jobsearch #resume #application #management

Good evening everyone! For everyone that's looking for employment, the #1 things we for get is to figure out the best way to market ourselves. Exposure is the key, putting yourself in position to be recognized, that the one thing we've never practice, we probably worked jobs where we knew someone or just got lucky at that point in time. The next job you get, don't settle. Figure out the top 5 jobs you would enjoy doing and go for it! When you wake up in the morning, your saying Awww and not Aww S***. Mind you if you need $$$ sooner than later, do what you have to do while your working on the 5. Good Luck!
