I was born in Cocoa Beach Fl. I was raised with having great respect for anything that has to do or is part of the Kennedy Space Center. I would be sincerely grateful for an opportunity to work for Lockeed Martin. My grandfather is John A. Latherow and he worked in mission control in the early 1960's. McDonald Douglas is who retired with. He also was Treasure of the Space Congress. I would be so appreciative to have a position that I actually can have retirement and benefits ect. My early adult years and single parent I didn't have the ability to apply. Sincerely, Susan Michelle Lucas

I have a principal to robbery charge that has prevented me to get every job I've applied for. Since my prison bid I have worked a full time job, bought a car, maintained a license for a consecutive 3 years !!! The charge was in 2017. I'm not on parole or probation. Applebee's turned me down. Effin APPLEBEES ?!!! What do I do? Flip burgers? 2 jobs paycheck to paycheck? # #jobsearch #felony #backgroundcheck #advice #careeradvice

Hi there About a record I suggest that if you have any Real friends associates that are in the food industry and they are willing to take a chance and vouch for you the possibility of landing a good job is greater.. Skills are better paid and more rewarding blue collar jobs if you really want to make a better living. Carpenters / home framers make good money Women can do that Construction as well and so forth Even working in body shops preparing cars for paint ( to be painted ) Pays about 15 to 19 bucks commission and you can earn from 40 to 100 hrs in a good week It could vary however don't give up cause in the past I help a friend that serve 5 years in and I hooked up my friend with a company doing repairs on cars the only bad outcome is that he didn't change his old bad company and you can imagine where hi is at again . Never give up! That's the bottom line!!!!!!!

What is a Job that can easily become a career? I am tired of giving years of labor and not growing in companies or advancing in pay? #careeradvice

So "Mr." works in any situation (well, in the US at least), but "Mrs." (missus) and Ms." (miss) are dependent on if the person is married or not. Kind of archaic and doesn't really reflect our current societal norms or values, but that's a whole other conversation.
So if you want to be polite in an interview or phone call, and you're not sure which to use, which is the default to which you typically fall back? Ma'am works of course, but not if you want to include their name when addressing them (it's a great subtle way to form a connection and be more personal after all).
A quick google search returns this as the top answer: "Use “Ms.” when you are not sure of a woman's marital status, if the woman is unmarried and over 30 or if she prefers being addressed with a marital-status neutral title." That might be a convention set down by someone at some point in history, but it seems like a potential landmine to me...you never know what a person finds offensive for whatever reason they might have.
Any thoughts or opinions on the matter?

Always Ms.

It's funny that Dalllas Hermanson brought up this issue and not once in his replies to anyone of the women who responded, has he used the terms "Mrs. or Ms." 🤔 and these too are people he doesn't know.

I have a bachelors degree in ABA and I’m working on a masters in other psychology. But what else can I apply my bachelors of science to? Because it doesn’t earn me anything in ABA anymore and I don’t want to do ABA now anyway. I love the ABA concept but I don’t like the way it is used and I’d love to apply it to another place. #jobsearch #advice #careerchange #education #healthcare #careeradvice #ABA #psychology #bachelors

Ask @John Biddle as he is all knowing

Hi Samatha, Well, I can understand where you are coming from; I also studied ABA in the past and practiced as a behavioral analyst technician in the space. As you know, in ABA, you get a vast knowledge of the learning theory. So depending on where you see yourself and find the most fulfilling is key. Navigate further into healthcare, special needs teaching, even in government sectors, as an FBI analyst. Also, if you are still in school, reach out to your advisor, and I'm sure they can help you source some significant additional roles where you can still take the concepts you learn and know and apply them in a different space, along with learning even more. Best wishes moving forward!

I am older and looking for a position that is fulfilling. I am reliable, have a lot of experience in many fields and am adaptable. I have a "solutions" type outlook and up to a challenge. Any suggestions on where to start? #careerchange #careeradvice

Good morning everyone. My name is Terry. I have a bachelor degree in criminal justice. I was a probation officer once for about 8 months before having to resign because of blood pressure issues. I also have a 3 year teaching certification to teach 7-12 grade social studies. I moved to Arlington,Tx to take a job in supervision but after 7 months we lost the contract. I dropped out of high school but 23 years later went back to obtain a GED. After doing that I applied to a junior college and took classes there. I fell about half a semester short of obtaining an associate degree because of working to many hours to provide a living for myself and son. I went on to get my bachelor's in criminal justice and the teaching certification but no one will give me an opportunity to have a professional career. I have no criminal offenses on my record and I'm not a drunk junkie. I don't have a lot of experience in any one area, the greatest being in my time with the department of corrections. If there is anyone in the Arlington,Tx and surrounding areas that would like to hire a hard working, compassionate individual then I'm your guy. I'm a quick learner and devoted to the task at hand. Please someone help me if you can. #jobsearch #advice #careerchange #careeradvice
I'm asking individuals on "Jobcase" to PLEASE STOP seeking your information from ONLY other individual posting on this website - do a little homework on your own. If you accept only responses posted here, you are limiting yourself. I give a response periodically, because like many here, I'm also job hunting. I've worked in Human Resources for probably 90% of my work history, nevertheless, I'm still learning - don't rely on my words alone - Google your state laws, check with Unemployment. The infor mation I've listed below was pulled from ncsl.org, hopefully you'll find the information helpful and still check further. Good luck!
Certification of Rehabilitation Another policy option chosen by some states offers people with criminal records the opportunity to secure certificates of rehabilitation or certificates of employability that would open the door to receiving occupational licenses. Although the application of these certificates varies from state to state, they “may be used to provide a way for qualified people with criminal records to demonstrate rehabilitation or a commitment to rehabilitation,” and to relieve barriers to jobs and licenses. Certificates of rehabilitation may also be a viable option for states that have yet to adopt comprehensive record closure laws (expungement/sealing) since some are able to “directly limit the application of collateral consequences” while not removing information from a person’s record or limiting public access.
At least 12 states now make certificates of rehabilitation available through the court system and a few others through administrative agencies including California, Colorado, Illinois, North Carolina, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Rhode Island, Tennessee, Vermont and Washington.
