I was working at Dunkin donuts and I was terminated due to my background. I wouldn't have any issue with this If I'd lied about it on my application. However, I put my entire record on the application. So I'm trying to figure out how I initially got the job if my background violated any rules of Dunkin donuts? #felony #advice #discriminationtermination #discrimination #termination

I worked with this lady and had no issues except when I became homeless and she fired me because of that #discrimination

I've been a contract Project Manager for several years, having successfully managed large-scale, big-ticket technology projects for several Fortune 100 companies. Recently my contract with a multinational bank ended and I began searching for a new contract. With more than 20 years of solid experience and multiple globally-recognized certifications under my belt I've never had a problem securing my next contract, at least not until now, at 76 years old. I've interviewed at a couple of dozen companies - a few of them multiple times - I've been refused employment for no apparent reason beyond my age. Ageism (aka age discrimination) is alive and very well in hiring organizations today. #ageism #discrimination #seniors #hiring #interviewing #general

I just saw someone ask this question in the comments section of one of our posts and want to know what YOU think. Have you encountered age discrimination recently? What did it sound/look like when it happened to you?

Age discrimination is also asking what year you graduated high school.

I was recently let go from Walgreens after 30 years as a pharmacist for yelling at the store manager. He was telling me how the pharmacy should be run. Really??? Do you all believe this was the real reason?

Have you ever applied for a job, put in for a promotion and told that you meet all the qualifications and they're pretty sure that you can do the job but they can't hire or promote you because you're just not a fit culturally?

It turns out you're not alone and some of the biggest and best known companies are being accused of using this in their hiring practices, included Facebook.

Have you ever faced this type of discrimination in your job search or on the job during your career?

It is the limit of human intelligence in the present human world, which has not yet fully matured.

In educator circles too, I heard the term recently. I imagine because of my age I will hear it more. Let’s change this @@@@.

I did not stay. General Manager had a habit of throwing employees under the bus. No write ups on record. Upper management did not investigate. Just took General managers word. On a good note he is no longer there. #coworkers #Ish #leadership #termination #discrimination #management #bad management

I have been deeply affected by the discrimination that was leveled at me on the job front. I won't tell you where I have worked and can tell you some pretty harrowing stories of ugly interviews that demonstrated discrimination. Oh, my! #discrimination #advice

I was fired after being humiliated by my team. Funny thing is no one from the team still works there. Told I wasn't a good fit. I guess it was because I am a strong black woman who doesn't need a young white girl telling her how to do her job. F**k this company and their racist asses. #discrimination

Regarding age discrimination, I was an HR Manager, and in the HR field for 10 years before the bust in the economy took place in 2008. I know for a fact, although companies say they don't discriminate against age, they really do. They find some other reason not to hire you i.e.; salary requirements are too high or your not a good fit for their culture. If you go into a company and everyone there looks like they are 30 something and you are 50 +....... forget it! You will not fit their age culture. #age #ageism #discrimination #seniors #jobsearch
