I am trying to get a job as a camp counselor this summer. I applied for a job at Camp Pennbrook. I sent an application in the mail over a week ago. #application #followup

This is really directed towards Human Resources personnel or the actual people interviewing for a department/position. After an interview that seemingly went well (maybe an hour long interview) what is the protocol for following up? Do applicants send an email, call the interviewer or what is suggested? As an applicant, it would be nice to receive something saying the position has been filled, or if you are atill interviewing applicants. A call is not necessary, but a standard letter from HR would suffice. It's discouraging to continue to see the job posted and no response. #humanresources #interview #followup #application #hiringprocess

I usually send a Thank You email after all my interviews, within 24 hrs after. then if I haven't heard back within 2 weeks I send another email to inquire about the status of my application. If nothing, I just move on. Some places reach out with rejections others don't.

I think it depends on the size and capacity of the companies you apply to. Some companies even outsource their hiring process to outside agencies. Here are some tips on how to follow up with employers after an interview. I hope it helps. Let us know how your job search is going so far and how we can support you!

Something to think about before you complain that nobody ever gets back to you...

I was offered a job at a company and had been working there for about a month. Being only a month in, I was still in my training period. Then I received a voicemail from the same person who initially offered me a job with another job offer for the same position. Then the following week, I was let go (I wasn't given any specifics other than under performance which was never brought to my attention once by any of the floor managers). So it seems like the hiring manager didn't realize I had already been working at the company and, if I took the new job offer, I would essentially be replacing myself. So the question is, should I take up the new job offer as if I were a completely new candidate? If so, how should I go about doing so? #jobsearch #advice #termination #management #hired #followup #confusion #joboffer

So, i am a little confused myself, you were doing the job that they hired you for. Then they offered you the job that you already were doing. Then they let you go, and you are asking should you take the job that they are offering you for the same position? I do not know the details of what transpired, have you asked them about the new offer? Do you know that this is job is still on the table for you now? I would contact HR and see what they have to say, no harm no fowl and it will answer your question. Goodluck!!!

I applied for an administrative/secretary/HR assistant position. I went to the interview, but they were concerned about my longevity with any company. (The longest I have been somewhere is 1 year.)

Well, I got a called back. They want 5 references! Two of them must be managers, and no personal references. Also, I must have their e-mail, work phone number, and cell phone. Oh, and get this, they are asking my references a 30 question survey about me! Um, I think this is excessive and unnecessary for a job that doesn't even require a degree.

I think it's a bit much! Three references sound more reasonable to me.

I agree with you. In my field. I hardly ever interact with managers or supervisors.

My wife has been at her current job for 6 months but is fed up. She’s applied to a few places but this one in particular seems ideal. Good commute, great benefits including part time work from home, and would double her pay!

She did a mock call and phone interview and it was sent to the manager for review. They told my wife they would “definitely” get back to her after a week. It’s been two weeks now, but she told me she doesn't want to be "annoying" and #followup yet.

What should she do, if anything? Your #advice is greatly appreciated!! #jobsearch #interview

A few things negative to say. I was suppose to have a phone interview with someone at Amazon DSP. Had a date and time, they confirmed several times about my upcoming interview via email and text. However the day of the interview no-one ever called me and when I sent a reply asking what happened I never got a response or email ever again. So very unprofessional... #interview #followup

Employers don’t have the common curtesy to tell you the position was filled the day before but make you go through several phone interviews just to make it sound like they gave a friend the job the day before but have to go through this process for the company. #jobsearch #interview #followup
