Sallie Mae is double garnishing me now. They have two arms coming at me. So now working at my par time minimum wage job. I am being garnished 30 percent of my income. Thanks to my inability to get anything better. I am even poorer now.

Tell me again why college was worth it? That is even with me having a MBA and BFA in animation. College is a scam. It is not worth it. All it gave me is low wage work. Made me even more unemployable then I was before college.

This debt has effected my mental health to no end. Of course they don’t care about my issues. They don’t care if they garnish all my wages. These ass***s are the worst. You know what? You can thank the US government. This would not happen in the private sector.

You people wonder why I am depressed all the time. I can’t a job that pays more then minimum wage and is full time and I am being garnished to the hilt.

I got a letter in the mail saying my social security was going to be garnished due to student loans. I had went to school years ago and wasn't working at the time. I didn't realize I had taken a class three different times and failed each time, even though I used a tutor for help I still couldn't grasp the concept of the terms so I was dismissed. I've never refused to repay the student loan(s) I just have a child to provide for and now a husband of 3 years. My social security check only covers most of the basics which include rent, electric, our phones so we can search for jobs and stay in contact with everyone we need to, a small car title payment so we can get back and forth to any jobs(needs repairs but still usable), and after paying those I still don't have enough to pay the water bill. God's blessed me with just enough to cover the remaining bill but unfortunately leaves us broke until the next month. I recently was hired for a seasonal job but doesn't start until April, my biggest concern is when that job is over in a few months and it's just that one check again. I can only work part-time and jobs close to home within walking distance aren't easy to come by just in case our car does break down. That was the reason I had to quit my job the last time, I lost transportation. I know God provides us with what we need but every opportunity given to make things better is quickly taken away shortly after, making things harder. I wanted to take care of the smaller bills first before tackling the bigger ones like my student loans, by taking care of the smaller ones I can work more things in. Please pray for us.

My school loans killed another job opportunity. Thanks to credit check. Can't pay them back if I can't get a job.... College was the biggest mistake of my life. Not worth it.

I wasn't surprised considering the company wasn't doing well. I was partially happy because it was a toxic work environment that effected my mental health. However, now I'm concerned about not having income to pay my student loans. I looked for work while employed for over a year and found nothing...not sure what else to do.

Lately, 4 past yr or so, when applying on zip recruiter or other job sites, a ton of calls come 2 me stating they are "attempting to collect on defaulted student loans!" Since my last loans were over 20 yrs ago, paid & in good standing, knew it was a scam..... Also, never say yes & or no on voice recorded messages, ur responses may be used in opposition to questions posed 2 aid them in their "scamming success!" good luck & success in ventures. Since I was laid off this position I have not had a job since IN two years I have put in application with many company and have not even got a call for an interveiw.I don't understand because I have been working since the age of sixteen and now not having a income has prevented me from a lot of normal living.Also I have a student loan debt that I will not be able to pay until I receive a job,among that and others issue I still apply everyday, call and continue to keep trying and hoping that the situation will change for me.
