I worked for 11 years in a retail environment. 7 of those years I was the manager. After those 11 years I was fired back in June of 2021. The company I worked for had a set of core values that we were supposed to follow, but upper management was "exempt or created a double standards" when it came to these values. So as a consequence my morale/attitude sank due to my lack of support. Now that I have been out for 7 months, I am trying to find something new that fits my needs and passions. However I am finding it considerably hard to find any place that will work with my salary range or work life balance. How does one find a career with these things without compromising either?

I feel you pain. Iβm in retail management, made my budget and goals just to have them raised at the last minute so it canβt bonus. Although 3 of my 7 salespeople made bonus.

I am having such a difficult time finding something that is #parttime and #workfromhome. When I think I have found something that I would qualify for, it appears that I'm either over qualified for, underqualified, have the experience and not the degree or don't have the expensive certifications. In some circumstances its more expensive to go to work then it is not to work at all, I need a bit of #advice.
I didn't think being 51 almost 52 would be a problem but apparently it is for an industry that I have almost 40 years experience because I never took the time to get a degree. It doesn't matter how many online courses or keeping up with the industry that I have done, that degree is pretty much everything it seems. Many of the job leads that I am getting in my email you can't just simply click on a lead, even when it says "apply on company site", it still takes you to another link before you can fill out what seems to be an application and most times it isn't LOL.
Many times the position is no longer available, the lead is a scam or it was a way to get you to sign up for another search engine. Now I see why many people start working for themselves or just simply give up. I'm thinking of ways to just start working for myself again.
Cheer up everyone and good luck, this is not a ploy to get you do anything or buy another online course, this is just a message to say good luck, don't give up. #interview #careerchange #jobsearch #ageism #application #wordsofadvice #motivation #education

I am 23 years old and I'm looking for an environment in which I can grow and learn. I don't mind physical labor or spouts of multitasking. I've grown weary of food service jobs and I'm looking forward to new and enriching experiences. Janitorial work is some of the most fulfilling work I've experienced thus far; warehouses are not out of the question. from past experiences I've learned that I myself prefer a mix of solitary, & team working. For now I can only work in Rincon. I'm working on reliable transportation, but once I do obtain a vehicle I can travel further for work! #careerchange

Are there any Insurance companies that don't require sales? Inquiring minds would like to know π #jobsearch #interview #advice #healthcare #careerchange

Good morning everyone. My name is Terry. I have a bachelor degree in criminal justice. I was a probation officer once for about 8 months before having to resign because of blood pressure issues. I also have a 3 year teaching certification to teach 7-12 grade social studies. I moved to Arlington,Tx to take a job in supervision but after 7 months we lost the contract. I dropped out of high school but 23 years later went back to obtain a GED. After doing that I applied to a junior college and took classes there. I fell about half a semester short of obtaining an associate degree because of working to many hours to provide a living for myself and son. I went on to get my bachelor's in criminal justice and the teaching certification but no one will give me an opportunity to have a professional career. I have no criminal offenses on my record and I'm not a drunk junkie. I don't have a lot of experience in any one area, the greatest being in my time with the department of corrections. If there is anyone in the Arlington,Tx and surrounding areas that would like to hire a hard working, compassionate individual then I'm your guy. I'm a quick learner and devoted to the task at hand. Please someone help me if you can. #jobsearch #advice #careerchange #careeradvice

Starting a new journey in my life. Have decided to move to Etowah, TN 13731. Waiting for closing at the end of March. Was a retired RN and had a small farm for 4 years. After the move, I am looking to enjoy a part-time position working with people again. I have lots of options but I am at a time in my life when I would like to have a position I enjoy. # #careerchange #jobsearch #parttime

I am seeking employment and was wondering if there was anything else I needed to know. I am in school right now for administrative professionals assistant about to receive my certification. I have been a labor worker my whole life so office work is new to me. #jobsearch #interview #advice #education #careerchange

I have 20 years of experience in brand marketing from identifying brand opportunities to leading product launches. You name it, I have done it.
In addition, I started my own business that, for reasons well out of my control, I have to either sell or close it.
But in my unique career journey, I have discovered something (again?) that I should have realized sooner.
I love to write, and I excel at it: blogs, copy, name generation, social media posts, etc. I am happiest when I am putting words on a "page" for an audience to later engage with. And, given that I have spent the majority of my career selling things that people either don't need or shouldn't have, I understand completely the power and tools of persuasion.
Now, I want -- need -- to leverage my skills to fight the good fight. So, if all the stars were aligned, I would want to shine for a compelling cause or worthy political movement.
The question: How can I make this dream career change happen?
