My sister is currently looking for a second job. She applied for a order puller position and had the interview yesterday. She arrived early and one of the supervisors told her that’s a good look. My sister said the hiring manager who is female, came out and stared at her then told her she may not be a good fit for the position. My sister is the kind of person to keep herself up. Hair done, comfortable outfit, etc., this lady told her that the job requires heavy lifting, 70+ lbs. Mind you, my sister has been working for the post office as a mail handler for 6 years. Heavy lifting is what she does 12 hours a day for 6 days. The HR manager said she doesn’t believe my sister can take constant heavy lifting for 4 hours. Is this not discrimination? She either doesn’t want to hire her because of her race or because she’s a female who they feel wouldn’t want to get her hands dirty. #discrimination

I (used to) work for an apartment complex. One of the benefits offered was "rent free" living (it was automatically taken from my salary) I was recently terminated after letting a friend stay with me for 1 night because she was accompanied by her service animals. Adding insult to injury, I'm facing losing my apartment because of said termination and the property manager is refusing to let me sign a lease due to my "violation" .... is this even legal?! #termination #advice #discrimination

Hi I'm Granisha,I've been working for my job only a month and the fact that she FIRED me because I told her I had pain in my back from the previous shift made me feel like she's discrimination, the manager didn't even know my name she referred to me as THAT GIRL,I have messages clearly stating that she fired me because I was in pain and wasn't able to come to work. #termination #discrimination

So I was terminated from my job. The company wanted me to do extra duties and I did. Just not as fast as they thought. So I go on vacation and come back to getting fired. Since then, finding a great job is hard and I'm blessed to find good work. But applying for county jobs and state jobs, with great benefits don't happen.. Can I file for discrimination or can I file a suit against the company for letting me go like that? Also, I interview well and that's it. Rejected! Is there a statute of limitations on filing? Thanks #termination #advice #discrimination #legal

You should go to human resources and ask why you were let go and explain what was going on

Just curious...how long had you been on the job before you took vacation? How many days did you take off?

There was never a time I felt proud to work for this company as they had a difficult time accommodating individuals following ADA guidelines, not to mention that beyond my employment led to a discrimination complaint being filed with the state of Utah against this company. #discrimination #termination

Some people get fired because of a hate crime the company committed against him because of another person. 😒 #discrimination

I got fired for no reason at DHR health at lubys her name is Maria(supervisor) and Susan ( director) They called me to come in while I’m sick and feeling drowsy. Because of my medicine I got High blood pressure. They treat me different after my bf apply just because he have seizures. They treat him bad. They fired him for no reason he was trying to know his schedule but they never give it too him they put him no show. #discrimination #dhrhealth #management #advice

I work at a hotel, and they recently opened a new restaurant in our same building. I spoke with the hiring manager at the restaurant about possibly working there part time, and he told me to bring him my resume and we could go from there. When I returned to work after my day off, my coworkers were being kind of rude, and making odd comments and laughing. Someone even tore my name badge off my storage cubical. I didn’t understand what was going on... until I found this:

By the front desk was the resume I had given to the restaurant manager, except it had ‘corrections’ written by my current manager all over it. And as I read it, the jokes my coworkers had been making suddenly made sense- they had read it too!

I’m so embarrassed and violated and hurt. I don’t know what to do.

Any advice? Thank you! #advice #management #bullying #resume #coworkers #discrimination #violation #privacy

I saw your other post. Ugh, I'd be upset too @Becca Mas. Don't let this situation get you down. I think it's pretty cool you're doing your best to advance your career.
