"Salary Negotiations"

After the interview, if you get a job offer, ask them two questions. First, "how many levels does this job description have in your company?"

Companies set different salaries for each level. The levels can be reflected in titles but aren't always so clear.

"Figuring out the specific level that you're at will indicate the level of seniority the company believes you have, and therefore the kind of salary they think you're eligible for.

The second question to ask is, "what is your compensation philosophy across the industry?" They could say something like "we pay 75th percentile," which means they pay better than 75% of companies in the industry.

After receiving the offer and having your questions answered, tell them, "I'm excited about this offer. Can you please give me a couple of days to think about it and I'll circle back with you." Then start doing some research.

Check sites like O'Net and Salary.com, as well as job listings which will offer you data about salaries and titles.

When you respond to the employer with your answer, you can tell them that you are excited about the offer and you want to join the company, if they can hit this number you will accept the offer today.

They might get back to you and say yes, they might get back to you and offer a little bit less and they might get back to you and say no altogether.

The point is, "If you don't ask, the answer is always no." Remember, the time to negotiate your salary is before you accept the offer. #AWU #disability #jobs #salary

SITUATION:

It's important for you to win. Your ability to win will impact your life and well-being of your children in years to come.

CIRCUMSTANCES:

However, many people don't put best business and self-development practices into actions, rather. they procrastinate.

Don't gravitate towards this mindset, it's not beneficial.

PROACTIVE:

"Dump your doubts, Drive your dreams" and you'll be amazed how everything else will fall-in-place in your favor.

I'm telling you the truth...

"Live your best life right-now and you'll have less regrets when tomorrow comes." ~Edward Alexander

Don't wait for the change to meet you at the halfway mark, you tell the change to join you at the finish-line. Then, you say to the change...

Hey...!: What took you so long? I was waiting..!

PS: Your children will thank you for a lifetime, as the "wings of faith" will lift them higher in years to come.

Listen carefully...

Falling-short in life is not a mystery, rather, it's a management of our MINDSET.

Case and Point: Once you start depending on external factors to give you leverage at your interview such as...

  • Higher education level or status hype.
  • Height, weight and depth of complexity therein.
  • Who you knew then, and possibly who you know now.
  • Language, dialect which is peculiar to a specific region or social group.
  • Technology, economics, social status quo standards.

You can easily fall-short at your interview within 10-15 seconds.

Remember, your best "attitude" can always place you in the right head-space to gain approval ahead.

I Believe You Can...!

Listen carefully...

Everyone doesn't have to see it, nor believe it, to receive it.

It wasn't meant for them, it was meant only for YOU!

Scattered pieces of a dreams wasn't assigned to you, it belongs to others.

The light bulb represents your energy and power to believe. When you see the light bulb come in the darkest hour of your mind, follow-it, then everything else will fall-in-place for you.

I Believe You Can...!

It is generally said a person should not ask how much salary for a position they should receive when on an initial job interview for a company.

I'm telling you the truth...

We all know at least 1, 2 or 3 persons that's always complaining about something, even before the drop of a dime.

Sometimes, it seems like they're just making it up for attention. Go-figure, right?

Instead of expressing a concern, they vocalize it in the form of an agitated complaint.

Lessons Learned: Let your complements outweigh their complaints and everyone can enjoy the unforgettable moments of life.

Have a nice day with them or without them. Just have a nice day, because you can't get this day back.

I Believe You Can...!

The short conversation went something like this...

The kitten says...I know you and I don't have many things in common. You're a dog and I'm a cat. Right?

However,

I overheard my boss talking on the phone last night saying..."his company was looking for someone to walk-in to the interview and talk about four comprehensive professional soft-skills they really need."

Such as...

  1. Flexibility
  2. Compassion
  3. Readiness
  4. Preparedness

Everything else about the job details would fall-in-place accordingly. Are you ready to go?

According to Salary.com's survey, only 37% of people always negotiate their salaries. Job seekers often devalue themselves because they think:

Negotiating a salary might cost me the job offer.

It will create an adversarial relationship with my employer.

The employer has the final say.

Here are a few tips that will help you negotiate your salary:

Never let any company give you an offer based on your last salary. Compensation should always be based on your skills.

Use websites like Levels.fyi, Glassdoor and Payscale to see what employees working in your position are getting paid. Research the salary trends in your industry.

Make the recruiter understand why you deserve what you are asking for.

If you get asked about your expected salary in an interview and you haven’t made up your mind, simply say, "I’ve not thought about it yet. Can we have a separate meeting to talk about salary and the final offer?"

Negotiate your salary and ask for what you believe you deserve because if you feel undervalued or underpaid, your performance will definitely be affected. #AWU #disability #jobs #salary
