I am 62, have a Bachelor degree but am disabled and have only worked a few weeks since 2009. I would love to have a job that I could do where I do not have to walk as my legs are not stable. #seniors #jobsearch #disabled

Should we tell Roosevelt to check his English before pressing the SEND button?

I have a MA in Electriclal Engineering and if it’s not in a manufacturing setting your screwed. Being over 50 doesn’t help. Yes we all want to work and pass down our experience and education to younger people. So give us a chance we do know jape to be productive and on time daily.

You sure can. They also have a program that pays for tuition for certain careers. It is outlined in the benefit packge.

They treat workers like ROBOTS, Lacking Heat System April to November, Lack Air Condition May to Oct. Lack restrooms breaks.

What do prospective employers think of an applicant who is approaching the age of 60? #interview #ageism #jobsearch #seniors
I have worked for the same company for almost 18 years. I recently quit due to a lack of respect for the management team I have worked with for the past 8 years. Their integrity, honesty, and lack of care for putting in correct information into a program to be outsourced.

I have found that companies I have recently met with have all reached out to me based on my resume .The experience I possess and the targets I have hit make me a formidable hire. Phone interviews go well then the Zoom call . The absolute most overrated advancement we have made in the 21st Century . Why say this because I have experienced ageism the moment that call starts. I'm a youthful fit 60 yr old who plans to work until they carry me out with the toe tag attached. I can communicate with younger peers on their level and actually have a smartphone that doesn't come from AARP. Having said that my gray hair is a dead ringer for a guy who reminds the younger hiring manager who never sold a piece of bubble gum let alone the fact that he or she has been given the task of hiring the person to turn the fortunes of their organization around and if it's not a cookie cutter fit they are trying to figure out how their going to get the time off to go celebrate at Coachella this year . These are the same people who talk and defend diversity in the workplace for all groups but fail to realize the population of the U.S. continues to get older and the growth of newborns continues to go down . So when we talk about the future let's fast forward to the 24 yr old hiring manager who one day will be a very well versed , effective producer at the age of 60 not looking to retire because the life expectancy is now 90 years old for the average American and Social Security can't be taken until the age of 78 or 80. Hypothetical perhaps . . . but appropriate for this conversation .At least callback and say what I lacked if that's the case ,but if your standard letters that you send out to people are supposed to be a coverup for your veiled attempt of skirting the issue of hiring an older employee because you don't think they'll blend with your Friday beer pong tournament then shame on you . Let someone with more experience fight for getting the right person in the right seat for the betterment of the company!

here here ya old geezer
I'm in the same boat (different financial picture). Have an MBA and used to be a CEO. Now it seems like I'm only qualified to sling packages for Amazon in the middle of the night. Didn't you know that once you turn 60 all your brains fall out?
