I was laid off from my job of 24 years (literally half my life thus far) with very little fanfare, recourse, discussion or perceived/implied severance compensation due, even after all those years I put in. Very disappointing. This circumstance is DIRECTLY due to and because of the ongoing Covid 19 pandemic.
I applied for unemployment in June and they told me that I didn't have enough work time, so I was able to apply for the PUA benefits, which I have done, I have continuously to sign in every week, I even received a letter letting me know how much I would receive every week and for how long, it is almost time for my benefits to end, but I haven't received anything yet, so what am I suppose to do? When are they going to release the benefits for the people that hasn't gotten their unemployment yet, I live in GA.
I made a post a few months ago about what was to come and as you can see, Economic Winter is here.

I received a letter and an email stating that I needed to attend a class on October 27, 2020. Someone from RESEA would call at 10:00 AM. No one called or contacted me on that day, I rescheduled a phone interview so I would not miss RESEA call. My very next check was short $300 for failure to attend the class. I called IDES to see why my check was short and was told I missed the class. I informed the agent no one contacted me, he checked and IDES had 3 phone numbers in the system for me and they called the incorrect one. I was told to upload a letter stating all this and I did and I am still without funds due me. Now I'm in a different state due to the current state of Chicago and COVID-19 with no means of taking care of myself. WHAT CAN I DO? feeling helpless #unemployment
Why Unemployment has NOT helped me ever on getting unemployment or the $600. I tried to do the form on line and I could not get it to go through...I don't know why. I called for help and some assigned non-experienced people tried to help me with this form but could not. I got no help at all from any unemployment employee...non!
I sent over 10 e-mail to them and they seemed to ignore all questions all of the people that lost their jobs due to I call it the C-virus. Unemployment handled this entire issue so so very poorly their grade is a D
I lost my job may31st, I applied for unemployment right away but had to reapply when I lost the ability to pay for everything.... I got internet now and I have kept on with what I was supposed to and ive heard nothing... idk what to do, nowhere wants to hire a felon ( I haven't been in any trouble since I was 27 ,I'm 34 now).
