Have you had an employer ask you for your references? Have your references told you they've been contacted by an employer?

I'm telling you the truth...(Read Without Failure.)

Listen carefully...

There are 1,001 reasons why people fall-short at their job interviews. One thing I learned is...It's NOT your fault.

Before I step away for my ZOOM Meeting, let me share three(3) important TIPS which are game-changers for your next interview.

As you step into the conference room for your next interview; even before you even think about sitting down; use 7-10 seconds smartly and discreetly to identify:

KEY 1. Who's sitting at the table?

KEY 2. How is each person is positioned?

KEY 3. Patiently wait to be invited to sit at the table.

Don't underestimate this coaching technique, otherwise, it could prove to be costly.

This technique can give you the cutting edge above and beyond measure, so you can succeed.

Again, visualize your interview in advance.

I Believe You Can...!

Listen, Live and Learn...

Live your best life now, because yesterday was the staged rehearsal for things to come for today.

7 - Keys for Transformation:

  1. Set your mind on specific goals.
  2. Write them down on 3x5 cards.
  3. Place them around your home.
  4. Pinpoint the important one first.
  5. Monitor your level of happiness.
  6. Emphasize that moment of joy.
  7. Show an attitude of gratitude.

Most of all remember this point: This is your life [be happy] and don't be afraid to live it well.

I Believe You Can...!

They ask for them depending on the job and the level of the position.

It’s hard to ask for a reference, let alone trying to figure out who could best position you to get the job, right? I have friends that have had bad experiences when they have a family member or a friend step in to vouch for them. I have always told them it can get risky very fast, so it’s not something I would recommend.

But who does that leave you with, if you haven’t worked with someone long enough, or if you are looking for a job while still employed?

If you want to find out who makes for great references, check out the following article about Who should I ask to be my reference?. It’s a great resource for anyone who might not know who to ask. #references #jobreference #jobs #application #joboffer

Last week, I shared a great article on How to ask for a work reference. More often than not, if you want the job, you will be asked to provide a few names of people who could vouch for you.

But, what if your old coworker reaches out to you and asks you to be a reference for them? If your inclination is to say yes, the next step is to prepare to highlight that coworker's skills and experience. Ask the person the following:

  • About the company
  • The job they will be doing
  • Who will be receiving the reference
  • Any other details they think might be helpful

Once you have answers to these questions, it’s time to write that reference letter. Check out this great article @Heath Alva posted on How to write a professional reference letter (with examples). My favorite aspect of the resources shared here, is that there are great examples and templates of ways you can best write this letter and do your coworker justice! #jobsearch #interview #application #references

Sometimes the job application will indicate how many #references you need. If you're unsure, aim for three quality references. Here's how to approach picking your references:

  1. Determine the type of role you're looking for
  2. Consider individuals you may know at the company
  3. Identify connections between your network and someone who works at the company

Did you know you can make connections right here on Jobcase? Go to a users' profile and click "Connect" -- this is a great way to build your professional network. #connections #jobsearch

References overloaded with questionnaires! I have been on a job hunt for 6+ months. I feel bad for my references who work just as hard as I do to land a job. They are constantly being asked to vouch for my character and ability to be a good employee, but then I don't get the job. Anyone else experiencing this? #references #jobhunt2021 #hiringnothiring #meetingaquota #falsehood #jobsearch
