There are 1,001 reasons why people fall-short in life, so let me mention one in particular:

PRINCIPLE: No. 1. A Measure of Faith.

1. Many times no one in our family ever emphasized that we could make it across the finish-line of life. So, we lost motivation, inspiration, drive and hope. Then, our leg power or will-power dried up. (We can't blame anyone, things happen in life.)

When people forget to tell us..."It's possible" or "We can make" then, it becomes difficult to step out of the starting blocks of life with a winning attitude.

It's never too late... so runners take your mark, get set, GO...!

One of my coworkers fainted at work today. This individual is prone to coughing fits, so at first it didn't seem like an emergency. However, this fit was more violent and lasted longer than usual, and he soon fell out of his chair.

My immediate superior leapt into action immediately, and made sure he was breathing, responsive and hadn't sustained any lacerations. With the help of another long-time employee, the two helped the colleague back into his chair to collect himself.

We work in an open-floor office, so the general manager came by shortly. He offered to call 9-1-1, to which the employee declined. Luckily, everyone remained calm, and my coworker had some water and went on with their day. (He also announced that he would be seeing his doctor tomorrow morning.)

I think everyone handled the situation well, but it reminded me to remain vigilant and ready to administer basic first-aid if such a thing were to happen again.

I looked around online for a good basic first aid guide as a refresher, but most of the search results were thinly-veiled advertisements for first aid courses and kits... Funnily enough, the best free online first aid resource was on WikiHow!
